Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a model used in counseling and coaching that begins with determining a client’s readiness to change a particular behavior. This non-judgmental and non-adversarial model seeks to help clients recognize the consequences should the undesired behaviors continue. In addition to using affirmations and reflective listening, this model  recommends using techniques that help clients imagine a better future and eventually, develop motivation to abandon undesired behaviors in lieu of new ways of life.
